Spyder X20 Dual-link support

Certain inputs and outputs of the Spyder X20 will support 2560x1600@60Hz or upto 330MHz***.  This document discusses the capabilities of the individualinputs and outputs.

All of the X20 DVI inputs can support dual link resolutions, however because ofthe extreme bandwidth requirements, the preceding analog input connector isdisabled while the dual-link source is in use.

When a dual-link source is used on input 2, the system will utilize theresources from Input 1, therefore disabling the connector.

Dual-link and layers

All layers can show dual link when horizontal resolution doesnot exceed 2048 and/or vertical 1200. It will however use two layers. 

Example:A stereo source of 1920 x 1080@ 120Hz can be seen on layers 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5and 6, and so on. (stereoscopic sources also use two layers).

Sources that are over 2048 horizontal and/or over 1200 verticalwill also require two layers but these do have restricted layer assignments. 

The following available layers are: 1, 4, 7, 9, 12, and 15. Layers 3, 6, 11,and 14 will not be available for those sources above 2048h or 1200v.

Also, when one of these layers is being used for a dual link source, the nextadjacent layer is also used. 

Example: When this type of source is being used on layer 1, layer 2 will beused as well. This is shown in the simulator by a 1/2 in the layer label in theupper left corner.

The Spyder X20 will support dual-link resolutions on odd numbered outputs.


Outputs 1, 3, 5, and 7 will support dual-link.
Outputs 2, 4, 6, and 8 will support single link simultaneously.
